I had know idea that there was so many gluten free donut recipes out there even though I’ve been gluten free since 2001. I guess I know what I’m baking this weekend.
40-Minute Gluten Free Donuts (Fried, Bakery Style)
Ingredients
Wet Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon gluten-free vanilla extract
- 5 tablespoon butter (softened) melted
Dry Ingredients
- 5 cups gluten free all purpose flour
- 1 ¼ cup sugar
- 2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 ½ teaspoon gluten-free baking powder
- 1 ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoon xanthan gum
- Oil for deep frying
Glaze
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1 tablespoon butter melted

Easy Gluten-Free Fried Donuts
Ingredients
- 2 ¼ cups gluten free flour blend * see notes
- ¼ cup cane sugar
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ cup unsalted butter softened
- 2 eggs large
Yeast Mixture:
- 2 ½ teaspoons active dry yeast * see note, 1 packet
- 1 tablespoon cane sugar
- ¾ cup milk or non-dairy milk * see notes, warm to 110º F, you can also use water.
Oil For Frying
- 1 cup canola oil Amount of oil will depend on what you are frying the donuts in. See the post for more information on frying.

Gluten Free Doughnuts Recipe (dairy free, low FODMAP)
Ingredients
- 1.5 litres vegetable oil for frying
For your dry mixture
- 270 g gluten free plain flour
- 70 g caster sugar
- 2.5 tsp gluten free baking powder
For your wet mixture
- 2 eggs
- 120 ml milk (dairy free – or lactose free if low FODMAP)
- 2 tbsp dairy free spread (melted to be totally liquid – it took 15 seconds in my microwave)

- ½ cup (99g) granulated sugar

- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup plus 2 tbsp (89ml) vegetable oil

- 1 ¼ cups Bob’s Red Mill 1 to 1 Baking Flour
- ¼ cup flaxseed meal
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda

- ¼ tsp xanthan gum, (only if your flour blend doesn’t already include it)

- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted and cooled to room temperature (dairy-free use Smart Balance butter)
- 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
For the Vanilla Glaze
- 1 ¼ cups powdered sugar
- 2 tsp milk, dairy-free use unsweetened almond, cashew or coconut milk
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
For the Chocolate Glaze (optional)
